Christian Praise

This comes not from the pen of Liesl, but from me, and I shall remain anonymous.

There was an excitement in the air as De Montfort Hall in Leicester filled.  The voice over the tannoy indicated that the “performance” was about to begin.  We had three minutes to get to our seats.

Liesl was introduced as the first woman speaker that the event had ever had.  I wondered how she would respond to such news.  In true style, her opening statement was, “Well God spoke through a donkey, so it should be ok.”

With calmness that I am not sure that I would have been able to maintain in front of that many people, Liesl began to unwrap her life; there was a silence in the auditorium as people hung onto the words.  Humour was evident but the message was serious.  “God wants to see people healed.  He does heal today!”  Liesl talked about her battle with prescribed, and black market drugs; the push towards suicide, and the depression and mental illness that nearly took her life.  Taking us through the journey to the point of her healing was amazing.  Those around me cheered when Liesl spoke of her experience of being in a small church and of hearing the words which impacted her life; “God can do anything, absolutely anything, he can heal the sick…”

I was struck by Liesl’s passion for the lost, who need Jesus, and for the young people, who are so easily enticed into drugs, and that she has a real sense of the urgency of bringing them to seek salvation.  The altar call at the end saw many come forward to receive prayer.

I thank God for Liesl and her testimony that touches so many lives and give hope to the hopeless.  I pray that God continues to use her in a Mighty way.  I know you stand with me in that prayer.

Free To Live Service

The monthly Free To Live Services have now been going for over 21 years.  We thank God that He brings new people every meeting.  We welcome these newcomers, and hope that you will pray for their safe journeys.  Pray also that these meetings will grow in the anointing of God, and become a light to the nation.

Seasonal Greetings

Dear News readers,

A very happy Christmas to you all, and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for praying for this Ministry and for your support and encouragement through the year of 2007.  Thank you!

A lot has happened this year both in the family and the ministry.  As many of you know I had surgery for breast cancer in 2006, and I am now pleased to inform you all that, only last week, I was told I do not have to see the Oncologist for 12 months!  Praise God.  Please continue to pray for my health, and that my body adjusts to the medication.  I have to take this medication for 5 years.

Our eldest daughter, Emily (37 years) is married to Bruce and they have a delightful daughter “Willow”, who is now 12 months old.  Emily is an Osteopath, and is able to continue with her clinic at home.

Iona our youngest now, 34 years lives on a narrow boat, and thoroughly enjoys life on the canal.  A definite community afloat.  Iona is now Dr. Iona, as she has completed her PhD, and is doing research on brains!

James is a blessing, a wonderful husband. And I do thank God for him.  He is busy in the parish and enjoys his work for the Lord.

This coming year 2008 I believe God is calling Free To Live Ministries to “enlarge its scope.”  I look forward to see what God unfolds.  I am open to change, to a new thing, and want to hear God’s voice in this, for the Ministry.

I do believe God wants to continue to use my testimony and to reach those young people today who are searching, lost, and wondering what life is all about.  We have a generation we need to win for Jesus.  So don’t let is lose that focus and remember Jesus’ words in Isaiah 61, “He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners…”

We continue for now with the monthly services on the first Saturday of the month, and I would like to encourage you all to come along if possible.

It is something possibly we can build on. And the verse for the year is Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains.  Of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.”

This is the year to:-

Drive a tent peg through the enemy’s plans.

A year to extend our borders.

A year to see God working, in mighty ways, through Free To Live Ministries.

Please pray for 2008 for God’s leading in the ministry.  Thank you!

God Bless you all

Liesl
