A great friend knew it was my birthday and also knew that I have a static problem (I fuse lights, microwaves, microphones, etc.) Well, now, Horace has two purposes, One is to clean my monitor, and two he removes all the static!!! What could be a better present? Horace sits by me, and I do think he is rather quaint. Here he is….
All I Can Say is Wow!
Birthdays are tremdous fun! well” fun” started at 8.30am with a visit to the Doctor for some pre chemo blood tests, and a fasting blood sugar test ( which by the way, they gave up on as apparently i got no more blood!) anyhow, one rule I have made is this; diabetics can have chocs on their birthday!! especially white choc! so this rule is being carried out very well! (wonder if that is why i feel sleepy?) never mind, birthdays are birthdays and at the ripe old age of 65 yrs, i think anything goes myself. And some friends gave me some weighing scales,. so they must have known i was going to break some rules! Now, the flowers i have received are so glam! I think i am the queen! I will show you a picture soon, but not this minute, as I am too busy eating chocs!
I have the best family,( included in the family is our Grandson Boots,) and friends, in the whole world. thank you all for your text messages, phone calls, cards, presents- I am being so spoilt!!!!
I learnt a tip of the day last week, which was put the battery in the camera when taking a picture.
Here is Boots…
You May Have Seen This before- Be Encouraged
There are many reasons why God should not want you, but don’t
worry.
You’re in good company!
Moses stuttered.
David’s armor didn’t fit.
John Mark was rejected by Paul.
Hosea’s wife was a prostitute.
Amos’ only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning.
Jacob was a liar.
David had an affair.
Solomon was too rich.
Abraham was too old.
David was too young.
Timothy had ulcers.
Peter was afraid of death.
Lazarus was dead.
John was self-righteous.
Naomi was a widow.
Paul was a murderer. So was Moses.
Jonah ran from God.
Miriam was a gossip.
Gideon and Thomas both doubted.
Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.
Elijah was burned out.
John the Baptist was a loudmouth.
Martha was a worrywart.
Mary was lazy.
Samson had long hair.
Noah got drunk.
Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse?
So did Peter, Paul–well, lots of folks did.
But God doesn’t require a job interview. He doesn’t hire and fire like
most bosses, because He’s more our Dad than our boss.
He doesn’t look at financial gain or loss.
He’s neither prejudiced nor partial,judging,
grudging, not deaf to our cry, nor blind to our need.
Satan says, “You’re not worthy.” Jesus says, “So what? I AM.”
Satan looks back and sees our mistakes. God looks back and sees the Cross.
Sure–there are lots of reasons why God shouldn’t want us.
But if we are in love with Him,
if we hunger for Him more than our next breath,
He’ll use us in spite of who we are, where we’ve been, or what we look like
Hello all! I am back!
I thought you might all like to see the new Church Hall. Here it is.
A blessing it is. And I am amazed that now our house has less leaves in the hall, no toilet roll crammed down the Pan. No taps left running, and the glitter from the children’s work no longer decorates the floor. It was like Christmas 24/7 here!!
On a Monday morning I usually would be clearing up, putting furniture which had been moved back in place, , chairs straightened, floors cleared.
The hall is amazing; beautifully designed, and a team which worked with the architect giving hours of their time, well done!! And now a new committee to keep it up and running,
I think James and myself might move in there permanently it has wonderful under floor heating. It is deliciously warm all the time, we live in a un- central heated house, and our attire is overcoats most of the time, sometimes it is warmer outside than in! What a hoot! This isn’t the dark ages but the 21st century. But we do love our house and appreciate it as it is free, so I am not complaining at all. We live in a small village, wonderful people, live here too, and a rural setting, birds, flowers, trees, and all things bright and beautiful.
The Good News is Coming
I see on the BBC page some good news
Trafalgar Square to host Jesus crucifixion re-enactment
Nelson’s Column
Lord Nelson will watch over the ‘crucifixion’
London’s Trafalgar Square will host a vast outdoor performance of the Passion of Christ, it has been announced.
Thousands are expected to watch as more than 100 actors from Bramley, Surrey, play out Christ’s trial and execution on Good Friday, 2 April.
Organisers say the free central London event will give a “unique” taste of being in Jerusalem on the first Good Friday as crowds bayed for blood.
Writer and producer Peter Hutley has the support of Christian groups.
He said: “I hope the play will bring faith in Christ to those who don’t know about him, remind those who do and develop faith as the greatest gift that mankind can have.”
The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, the Most Reverend Vincent Nichols, said: “I am delighted people from so many Christian denominations will be coming together to remind Londoners why the bank holiday of Good Friday is observed.”
Happy New Year
I want to say Happy New Year to all the viewers of this page. May God Bless you all in 2010, and May You all Bless Him.
